Day of supplementary training at Risø

It was not a particular problem which made employees from Poul Johansen Maskiner A/S book a supplementary training day at Risø. However, the company felt that such a day could provide some inspiration and possibly lead to future collaboration to solve specific problems.

Together, Risø and the company planned a one-day programme which involved lectures by seven scientists from three different departments on the most recent technological advances within materials, characterisation, testing and surface treatment. And a group consisting of the company’s designers, foremen and a technology manager listened with very open minds.

“We were presented with a lot of very interesting information, and it has certainly whetted our appetite for trying new things even though right now I cannot see how it might be applicable,” says technology manager Klaus Guldbæk.

Infectious enthusiasm

The designer and project manager Jens Ravn confirms the positive view of the visit:
“It was extremely interesting and definitely useful, especially what we heard about fi brereinforced plastic composites. You could really sense how passionate the scientists are about their subject matter. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and we asked lots of questions. We had an excellent dialogue,” he says.
