Poverty Alleviation through Cleaner Energy from Agro-industries in Africa

The PACEAA project addressed the issue of rural electrification as a means of alleviating poverty, in particular using electricity from agro-industries.

 
PACEAA worked together with two larger initiatives:

Greening the Tea Industry in East Africa (GTIEA) is supporting the development of small hydropower for tea factories.

Cogen for Africa is helping to transform the market for cogeneration in Eastern and Southern Africa by strengthening the capacity of cogeneration project developers, technical service providers, and local manufacturers to deliver profitable cogeneration projects, principally from sugar cane bagasse.
