Biosystems

Advanced biochemical analyses
Identification of protein by 2D electrophoresis followed by in-gel enzymatic digestion and HPLC-MS/MS analysis.

Elemental analyses in solid and aqueous samples
Contents of carbon (C), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O) and sulfur (S) are determined in biological tissue, soil and aqueous samples based on “dynamic flash combustion” combined with gas chromatography.

Micro-analyses of polymers
Polymers, including biopolymers are characterised either by analytical flash pyrolysis in direct combination with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) or by the use of advanced dynamic mass spectrometry.

Stable isotope analysis
The use of stable isotope techniques to study the sink source relationship of plant nutrients.

Trace gas analyses
Important atmospheric trace gases are constituted by nitrous oxide (N2O) and methane (CH4).

Impact on the environment of genetic modified plants
We offer to analyse environmental effects of transgenes.

Analytical chemistry in industrial production
Specialist assistance is offered within analytical chemistry.

Crops to Produce According to Bioenergy Use
New and innovative energy crops and cropping systems are needed with specific interest for bioenergy purposes. Assumptions about technological development and energy use throughout the conversion processes are considered.

Nutritional Residues from bioenergy
Utilization of nutritional residues from bioenergy conversion by the agroecosystem - management and nutrient conservation

Sustainable Biomass Production for Bioenergy, Where to Grow it and How?
Impacts on the development of renewable energy and the intensity of agricultural land use need to be taken into account when assessing the overall environmental benefits.

Effects of air pollution and climate change
