Fuel Cells and Solid State Chemistry Division

The Fuel Cells and Solid State Chemistry Division carries out research and development on advanced functional ceramics for energy efficient technologies.

Our main topic is Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) - a technology for efficient and clean conversion of chemical energy into electricity and heat.

In addition we are pursuing a number of related research areas, such as ceramic membranes for separation of oxygen or hydrogen, electrochemical flue gas purification, high temperature electrolysis, and magnetic cooling.
