Full Scale Laser Wind Scanner: Design, construction and testing of a new laser-based remote sensing instrument for measurements of wind and turbulence in three dimensions around huge wind turbines

The wind scanner facility at Risø DTU is meant to assist research community and the wind industry with new and easy accessible wind speed measurement devises based on remote sensing technique embedded in lidar’s. Mounted in the turbines nacelle or hub, Wind-LIDARS measure the wind speed immediately in front of the turbine, and detect approaching wind gusts and negative strong wind shears before they reach the rotor plane.
