The Aeroelastic Design Programme offers to and has experiences with performing aeroelastic stability analyzes of three-bladed wind turbines for the industry using the tool HAWCStab.
The natural frequencies, damping, and mode shapes of the turbine are predicted under different operating conditions and parameter variations. Both stall-regulated and pitch-regulated turbines can be analyzed to predict the risk of aeroelastic instabilities such as stall-induced vibrations and flutter.
